Job Description:

York Country Day School is seeking a part-time Teacher Aide to join our well-established Primary team. The Teacher Aide maintains and contributes to an exceptional learning environment for students' age 2 1/2 through 5 years. Duties include preparing and maintaining the classroom environment, creating materials, giving individual and small group lessons as directed by the Lead Teacher, helping with classroom management, supervising playground, attending to the logistical aspects of the classroom, and assisting the Lead Teacher in student observation. In addition, the Teacher Aide participates fully in the life of the school, including collaborating with the team in a mission-driven environment.

Requirements:

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree and experience working with children. An ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and excellent communication and organizational skills. Candidates should demonstrate a willingness to be challenged and to grow professionally.

The position begins on August 24, 2021, and ends at the close of the 2021-2022 school year. Hours are Monday through Friday from 8am - 1pm or 1pm - 3:30pm, during academic sessions only. Hourly rate based upon experience.
