Working knowledge of or proven capability to quickly learn structured programming language(s), database management systems, and other tools to be utilized/supported by Student Information Services.

Position Summary:

This position provides application development and support of EITS Student Information Services and its clients at UGA. Provides development, integrations, testing and implementation support services for various application systems and programs. This position uses technical skills and abilities to assist in the design, coding, testing, implementation and documentation of complex applications such as DegreeWorks, Banner Student, Financial Aid, Accounts Receivable, Banner Self Service. Use of various state-of-the-art system development tools, languages and database structures is required.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Modify, develop, code, test, implement and document complex programs or applications for Admissions, Student Registration and Student Records components of the Banner Student / Financial Aid system as well as other Banner System Solutions as required.

1.Design, code, test, implement and document complex mainframe and/or web programs using state-of the art
program and system development tools, languages and database structures with relative autonomy.
2. Code using languages such as SQL, PL/SQL, XML, C, C#, Java, JavaScript, HTML, and others as needed
for specific job responsibilities.
3.Application development against Oracle, and other database structures.
4.Execute and report status on assigned project tasks / milestones based on priorities and guidance from the analyst/supervisor.
5.Implement modifications/enhancements efficiently.
6.Maintain appropriate documentation on assigned systems and programs.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Modify and enhance application systems and programs based on client requests, business requirements and/or analyst / supervisor’s instructions.

1.Develop and implement programs from business requirements and/or specifications consulting with clients or analyst/supervisor as needed.
2.Provide direct IT support and communication to clients in requirements gathering, problem resolution, and project status reporting in coordination with the analyst / supervisor.
3.Assist in development of complex design documents from client input or requirements gathering process.
4.Review completed projects for accuracy and adherence to department standards.
5.Interact with users and systems administrators to implement system policies and coordinate appropriate change management processes.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Provide support to production application system operations as assigned.

1.Be on call for critical/core systems/application support 24/7. The duties and responsibilities of this position uses home or off campus internet service as a job requirement and the use of such internet
service is for business purposes.
2.Provide emergency response for critical systems and applications.
3.Develop software solutions to satisfy customer ad hoc requirements.
4.Provide debug and troubleshooting of issues; formulate and implement approved corrections.
5.Support and adhere to Departmental Standards, QA, and SDLC process.
