Job Description:As a senior leader within Facilities Department, you report to the Chief Facilities Officer.
Job duties and responsibilities include:
•Plan for overall condition and efficient and effective operation of Building & Grounds Sections at all NOVA campuses.•Supervise and ensure proper operation of all campus related systems involving predictive maintenance, preventive maintenance, regular maintenance, emergency maintenance, minor repairs, energy management and associated systems, various alarm control and other low voltage systems, and contractual agreements.•Provide oversight, management and evaluates multiple complex short & long-range programs.•Provide guidance, support, and supervision to campus Facility Managers for all aspects of campus operations, maintenance, and repairs.•Serve as senior leader in Facilities Department involved in setting department strategy including budgeting, priority setting, and technology assessment.Special Assignments:May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications:•Ability to plan, schedule, supervise, and evaluate work and make decisive decisions are critical.
•Excellent communication skills with upper & lower management including Commonwealth of VA leadership.
•Knowledge of Physical Plant operations and maintenance.
•Computer proficiency: data entry skills and ability to develop and interpret reports in text and spreadsheet format.
•General knowledge of building and grounds trades.
•Ability to monitor and analyze budgets and expenditures.
•Ability to create systems, procedures, and standards.
Qualifications:
•Extensive experience in facilities management. •Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of experience, training, and education. •Valid driver’s license and good driving record. •Extensive experience supervising facilities personnel.•Experience with energy management systems.Preferred Qualifications:•Professional Engineer
•Facilities Management related Certification
•Experience in facilities management in higher education
•Experience with VCCS, BCOM, and Commonwealth of Virginia requirements
•Experience with energy management systems and energy conservation
