In the Department of Chemical Engineering, the Post-doctoral Fellow will investigate the properties and performance of Lithium Ion Battery Cathodes. Job responsibilities include (1) performing collaborative research in preparation, characterization and testing of novel battery active materials created by electrochemical deposition; (2) conducting literature searches for technical information relevant to battery materials research undertaken; (3) preparing and assisting in making research reports and proposals, manuscripts for publication in professional journals, as well as presentations for meetings and conferences; and (4) presenting and discussing the outcomes of the undertaken research in group settings including project meetings with the sponsor, internal team meetings and one-on-one meetings with the supervisor.Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):
PhD with a thesis focus on electrochemical engineering related work
Previous experience in the assembly and testing of Lithium Ion Battery Coin CellsPreferred Qualifications:
Previous Experience with ElectrodepositionKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English.
Materials characterization techniques – SEM, TEM, XRD, etc.
Electrochemical data collection and analysis – deconvoluting polarization curves, voltammetry, rotating disk electrode, EIS, etc.
