IT Support Tecg II - Oit Service Centers

Regular Part-time, Market Range 06

OIT is seeking to fill a regular part-time position (30 hours/week) on the Data Center service team.  This position is on nights/weekends with the following normal shift hours:

Monday, 10:00pm - Tuesday 8:00am

Wednesday, 12:00am - 8:00am

Sunday, 12 noon - 12 midnight

Candidates must posses good oral/written communication skills and have the ability to work well in a team environment.  Duties and responsibilities include:

- Monitor and control electronic computer and peripheral data processing equipment in a complex client/server environment

- First level of support in monitoring for environmental and system hardware/software/network problems with appropriate escalation to second level of support when necessary

- Answer Help Desk calls and provide assistance/initiate creation of trouble tickets as appropriate

- Participate in training activities of junior staff

- Work independently and make decisions on how to solve problems needing immediate solutions

- Interface and serve as a resource for University IT support personnel inside and outside of OIT


Education: Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent related experience

Experience: Three years related experience
