INVESTMENT FINANCIAL ANALYST, DUMAC
DUMAC, Inc. (“DUMAC”) manages the investment portfolio of Duke University’s endowment and other related pools of financial assets. The mission of Duke University’s endowment is to support the people, programs, and activities of the university in perpetuity. Over the years, growth of the endowment through investment return and charitable giving has enabled the university to provide scholarships and fellowships to students, build faculty excellence, launch new programs and research efforts, and support a wide range of important needs.
Summary of responsibilities:
This is an entry level role on the Finance team. Key responsibilities include:
- Accounts Payable processing – entering invoices into SAP, reconciling and maintaining vendor recordsPrepare, review and process all expense reports accurately and timelyReconcile credit card statements and ensure all expenses are processed before deadlinesOrganize and maintain files for various expense categories along with necessary supportComplete monthly reconciliations, review documents for correct entry, accuracy and proper coding to appropriate general ledger codes;Reconcile all balance sheet accounts; reviewing for input accuracy and prepare monthly reports and journal entries, as neededAssist with monitoring of accounting, budget, and audit controlsSupport the finance team during the monthly close process, help with reconciliations, track down and organize capital call and distribution notices, monthly valuations, audited financial statements, K-1’s and other documents.Complete required ad hoc reporting and special projects as necessary

Education and experience
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred, with proven academic excellence1 year of experience in investment accounting/operations or Big 4 public accountingPlus but not required: CPA, Masters in Accounting
Work requires analytical skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Management Science or a related quantitatively oriented field.
Work requires the ability to analyze and evaluate investment performance generally acquired through one year of experience in the investment or a related field. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
