Required Qualifications High School Diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized state or federal accrediting organization with a minimum of 3 years' experience in electronic or applicable mechanical maintenance related trade.
OR
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in electronic technology.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Perform other related duties incidental to work described herein. Assist with other projects as requested or assigned by dental administration.Preferred Qualifications Technical school training in biomedical equipment technology/related field (electronics, pneumatics, telecommunications, etc). CBET (Certification-Biomedical Equipment Technician). Experience with AU standards and regulations. Previous medical or dental experienceResponsibilities The incumbent of this position with support from Senior Biomedical Engineering Technicians: Repair, calibrate, and maintain medical/dental equipment, instrumentation, and support systems used in dental healthcare delivery. Inspect, install, and perform inventory assessments and preventive maintenance of medical/dental equipment. Train dental providers, faculty, residents, students, and staff in the operation of the equipment in DCG facilities. The duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Supports patient diagnosis and treatment by installing, testing, calibrating and repairing biomedical equipment; training users; maintaining safe operations.
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules, conducting tests and troubleshooting and repairing malfunctions.
  • Diagnose and correct system and equipment malfunctions.
  • Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt.
  • Assist with and evaluate third-party repairs.
  • Provides equipment operation demonstrations, instructing other healthcare staff in use and care of equipment and answering questions.
  • Installs new equipment by establishing, adjusting, calibrating and testing performance.
  • All other related job duties as assigned.
