IAs work closely with students to ensure that they fully grasp the content delivered in the classroom. They also help build the confidence of students by attending to their needs and tutoring them during study hall. CUUB participants are low-income / first-generation high school students from Native American reservation communities in NM, UT, AZ, CO, and SD; the ideal IA will be able to effectively communicate academic content while remaining culturally sensitive and respectful of the particular needs and strengths of our students.

- Attend classes in support of students, and help Instructors with: classroom management, grading, grade entry, and occasional lesson planning.
- Attend a minimum of four Study Hall sessions per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7:00-9:00 PM), as well as weekly instructional staff meetings.
- Report directly to their assigned Instructor as well as the CUUB Directors.
- This position will be remote. Applicants must log their remote working hours and have access to technology and the internet. IAs are anticipated to work 25-30 hours per week during the following dates: June 7, 2021 - July 23, 2021.
- The salary rate for this position is $15/hour.
- Completion of at least one year of college coursework.
- Teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build an inclusive virtual environment for students and fellow staff.
- Ability to use Zoom, Google Classrooms, Microsoft Office, Canva graphic design.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
- Experience with the CUUB program.
- Experience working with youth, including advising and/or mentoring students.
- Experience supervising and working as a part of a team.
