Educational and Experience Requirement:

Bachelor’s degree in related field. Master’s degree preferred. Three years of experience in forensic science. Experience with training related activities, event coordination, meeting planning and project management preferred. Additional education may be considered in lieu of experience.

Nature & Purpose of Position:

Performs complex administrative and technical work for the Institute for Forensic Research, Training and Innovation (IFRTI).

Primary Responsibilities:

Coordinates the delivery of forensic science training within the Institute for Forensic Research, Training and Innovation (IFRTI). May prepare and review reports on the effectiveness of program activities. Reviews and approves training material prepared by subject matter experts. May prepare program budget requests. Coordinates the preparation of and delivery of in-person and online training within the program. Confers with staff on program issues and problems and implements solutions. Coordinates with SHSU Online, outside agencies, and subject matter experts for on-time program delivery. Plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates program effectiveness. Develops and recommends program guidelines. Interprets policies, rules, and regulations and ensures they are followed. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Other Specifications:

Ability to supervise business functions. Communicate with other University departments, personnel, other agencies and subject matter experts in forensic science. Prior experience in forensic science required. Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws.
