Job Description: UC Title:NURSE PDReports to:Nurse Services Manager 2Cost Center:Recovery Room - Surgery (427022) FLSA:NonexemptJob Code:009119Shift:Night Shift Position Number:40322376Working Title:Per Diem NurseBargaining Unit:CNADate Created:7/09/2020Hours:2.4FTE:0.06 Position Summary: The PACU nurse will collaborate with the Dept. of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Care and other surgical and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement a plan of care for a specific group of assigned patients. Performs professional nursing duties that incorporate the psychomotor and age appropriate cognitive skills of the patient/family/significant other to assess, plan, intervene and advocate for the patient on an ongoing basis throughout the post anesthesia period. Will evaluate patient outcomes, effectiveness of plan of care, and readiness for discharge from PACU. Acts as a role model and mentor to a variety of students and nurses new to the unit. Functions as a (PCC) Patient Care Coordinator as requested by the supervisor/manager. Salary Range:
$64.79Required Qualifications:Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health SystemAbility to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workloadMinimum of two years demonstrated nursing experience in an acute care critical care setting or high acuity/critical care level PACU.Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a fast paced, constantly changing environmentAbility to read, write and communicate effectively in EnglishAll external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidaysCurrent PALS certification or Must be obtained within 90 days of employment Licenses and Certifications:Advanced Cardiac Life Support(Required)Basic Life Support(Required)Registered Nurse(Required) Preferred Qualifications: One year demonstrated nursing experience in critical care or post anesthesia care unitPrior experience in a Level I Trauma Center and/or Academic Medical CenterCurrent CPAN, CAPA, CCRN certificationsDemonstrated experience working in a Level 1 Trauma CenterKnowledge of Title 22 and Joint Commission RequirementsBilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families Physical, Mental, & Environmental DemandsTo comply with the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 the essential physical, mental and environmental requirements for this job are listed below.
