The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Pulmonary Medicine has an opening for a full-time Assistant Professor.

Nature of Work

This is a full time Assistant Professor position in the Department of Pediatrics, Section of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine at the Colorado Springs Network of Care site/Briargate Campus, and Children’s Hospital Colorado Springs, Colorado. This is a clinical position to support clinical operations at that network of care site.

This position reports to the Pediatric Pulmonary and Sleep Section Head and the COS Outpatient Services Director

There are no supervisory responsibilities in this role.

Examples of Work Performed:

This position is a 1.0FTE and will support pulmonary clinical operations at a 1.00cFTE.  Clinical activities consist of a combination of conducting outpatient clinics, attending inpatient and consult service, as well as performing bronchoscopies, laryngoscopies, and reading PFTs.  Teaching and mentoring responsibilities of house staff, fellows, residents, and medical students is expected; however, this may be limited by your location.  If service call is restructured, this role would also include shared call coverage.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $170,400-$186,300

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Minimum Qualifications:

  • MD/DO
  • Board certified in Pediatrics 
  • Three years of Pediatric Pulmonology fellowship
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must successfully pass a drug test through Children’s Hospital Colorado
  • Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check
Note: This is an essential services position.  The incumbent is required to respond after hours during emergencies and report to work for regular assigned shifts during emergency campus closures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Boarded or Board Eligible in Pediatric Pulmonology
  • CO Medical license or CO medical license eligible
  • Prescriptive Authority

  • Knowledge appropriate for individuals completing a three-year Pediatric Pulmonary Fellowship.
  • Skills in pediatric pulmonary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  • Pediatric clinical assessment skills
