Responsibilities

Responsible for the day to day operations of email communications within the Office of Enrollment Management. Counsels prospective and current students on requirements and respective deadlines. Investigates and resolves problems related to student admission, registration and/or enrollment requirements including residency, testing, required documentation for consideration to the University. Assesses student application/record information and evaluates the appropriate actions needed to resolve inquiries made by prospective and current student emails regarding matters related to the aforementioned areas. Maintains effective relations via email with prospective and current students, parents, high school guidance counselors, faculty, and departmental representatives. Responds to inquiries regarding admissions, departmental offerings, and campus visits. Evaluates and interprets University policy and procedures and how they relate to an applicant's status for admission. Reviews applicant and student data to adequately counsel and/or make referrals. Assists in the Office of Admissions' decision days by providing support during these notification days


Assists with the hiring, training, and management of several OPS student employees. Monitors and critiques the customer service, problem-solving, and written communications skills of staff. Serves as back-up for coverage at the front desk and assists in the hiring and training of front desk personnel as well as overseeing the operations of the Isaac tool in SharePoint. Provides assistance with telephone support on an as needed basis. Develops, interprets, edits, and assists with the maintenance of the content of canned responses for electronic communications for the Office Enrollment Management. Routinely monitors the timeliness of staff's response to e-mail inquiries. Compiles statistical data and prepares daily reports on incoming and outgoing email communication and productivity. Works closely with area supervisors to provide data/reports and make recommendations to aid in formulating policies and procedures to increase efficiencies in email communications.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and one year of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and five years of experience.

(Note: or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to five years).

Experience should be relevant and related to the responsibilities of the job.

The ability to prioritize and organize multiple work assignments simultaneously.

Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook or comparable software.

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of experience related to the responsibilities of the job are preferred. We seek energetic candidates who are detail-oriented, and who work well independently as well as in a team. Candidates should have the ability to review, analyze, formulate, and organize data and information and follow through on assignments. Applicants should be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships and should possess a strong sense of initiative while managing multiple responsibilities concurrently. Candidates should be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Experience counseling and/or providing expertise and advice is required.
