Job Description:

The Admissions Officer II (Outreach and Recruitment) is responsible for programming and outreach efforts of prospective students and families within a targeted area to the University of Florida. Other duties of this position include advising prospective students, traveling to assigned territory, assisting with freshman holistic and academic review, and responding to inquiries by phone, email and virtual platforms.

Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Admissions for Outreach and Recruitment, the Admissions Officer II will plan and execute outreach and recruitment programs targeted towards prospective students and families, to the University of Florida. The Admissions Officer II will assess and evaluate the effectiveness of the outreach and recruitment programs and advise the Assistant Director on any changes that are needed to effectively recruit and yield prospective students to the University. The Admissions Officer II will provide data about the outreach and recruitment programming, territory, and/or other office initiatives for the Office of Admissions Annual Report.

The Admissions Officer II will serve as a liaison with faculty, staff, students, and organizations to coordinate recruitment efforts and initiatives. They will work closely with other university offices with special interest in recruiting students to the university. They will build and maintain knowledge of current academic offerings, financial aid programs, and student support services offered by institutional departments and academic units.

Assist with general admissions counseling, freshman application review, planning, and implementation of all admissions related events. Provide admission presentations to campus visitors at on-campus and off-campus events. Manages an assigned recruitment territory to include high school visits and college fairs. Serve on special committees.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Travel within the United States, which includes loading and unloading admission materials (40 lb. limit)

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.

Demonstrated ability to work and communicate across a variety of cultures

Ability to quickly learn and use campus software and solutions needed to perform duties
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to coordinate multifaceted events and initiatives with collaborators across campus and outside of campus
