Visiting PT Instructor, Taxation

Primary Purpose and Essential Functions:
The Eberhardt School of Business at University of the Pacific invites applications for a part-time, two semester appointment in federal taxation. Applicants should demonstrate success in teaching two survey courses in federal income tax. The first course is taxation for individuals and the second course is advanced federal income tax for corporations, partnerships, and estates.

The candidate should have a master's degree in a related field, or substantial experience as a tax practitioner. Preference will be given to candidates with a master's degree in either accounting or taxation. The candidate must be able to provide instruction at the undergraduate and graduate level in taxation in the BSBA, BSAcc, and Master of Accounting.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Applicants should demonstrate successful experience teaching federal taxation at the undergraduate and graduate level.
• The candidate should have either a master’s degree in taxation, accounting, or in a related field, or substantial experience as a tax practitioner.


Preferred Qualifications:
• Master of Accounting or Master of Taxation.

Work Environment/Work Week/Travel:
Approximately 15 hours per week. Duties include holding class, preparing for class, preparing and grading assignments and exams, meeting with individual students, responding to student email, and holding office hours.
