Position Description:
Under the general supervision of the primary Building Manager, the Assistant Building Manager provides support to the staff and Faculty occupying Boyer Hall, representing at least 8 different departments within the Divisions of Life Sciences and Physical Sciences. The Assistant Manager provides logistical support for all events organized by the four administrative units housed in Boyer Hall (Molecular Biology, Molecular Biology IDP, Bioinformatics IDP and Institute for Quantitative and Computational Biosciences (QCBio). He/she is responsible for maintaining the building infrastructure, identifying problems, recommending and implementing solutions. Serves as liaison to UCLA EH&S and Fire Marshall to ensure laboratory and overall building compliance. Working with the Building Manager, reviews future space, equipment and budget needs. Responsible for Sales and Service operations, including purchasing, equipment maintenance and billing. Assumes responsibility for maintenance of the building in the Building Manager's absence.
