Position Summary:

The University of California Irvine's Center for Educational Partnerships (CFEP) creates collaborations that support preparation for and success in higher education. Our focus is on equity and access for all students in order to achieve the University of California's goal of academic excellence.

Under the general supervision of the Center for Educational Partnerships (CFEP) Assistant Director, the incumbent is responsible for purchasing and programmatic activities/event planning logistical support. The incumbent is responsible for coordination and oversight of the full range of administrative functions and work activities which include departmental purchasing, accounts payables and requests for reimbursement, and, program activities/event planning logistics including scheduling of venues, caterers, and transportation/parking.

Analytical skill to interpret and apply policies and procedures relating to all administrative areas.

Skill to independently develop innovative solutions and solve problems in the context of frequent policy and program changes.

Skill to interact effectively and diplomatically with campus personnel, K-12 district and school administrators, teachers, counselors and staff, and others in a public contact setting.

Skill in speaking with persons of various social, cultural and economic backgrounds to provide information and explain policies and procedures.

Experience working in a highly confidential environment.

Ability to work cooperatively and effectively in a variety of work environments, including those involving frequent interruptions, changing priorities, and multiple deadlines.

Experience utilizing standard office software including: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, word processing, e-mail, and on-line systems.

Proven written and verbal communication skills, including proper grammar, spelling, and editing.

Ability to write concise, logical, grammatically correct reports and procedural documents.

Mathematical knowledge sufficient for basic computations.

Skill in reading and ability to understand, apply, and explain standard policy.

Ability to identify problems, research and analyze information, find and evaluate alternative solutions, make recommendations, implement solutions, and evaluate results.


Working knowledge of Kuali Financial System (KFS).

Working knowledge of University of California policies and procedures related to purchasing, entertainment and travel.
