Summary

This position is focused on the administrative management of a foundation funded project focused on addressing health disparities in breast milk provision for infants in the NICUs in the greater New Orleans area. In addition to assisting with organizational and administrative aspects of this multi-state collaborative that includes 8 NICU units in the greater New Orleans area, this position will direct and organize a Tulane owned "Milk Truck." The function of this milk truck is (1) to raise community awareness and interest in addressing health disparities in breast feeding (2) assist the partner NICU's with obtaining breast pumps for mothers in the NICU (3) assist in getting maternal milk to infants in the NICU through either direct delivery of milk to the NICU from the mother or through the delivery of shipping supplies to the mother so that she is able to ship her milk directly. This position will coordinate and supervise all milk truck operations and assist with the greater collaborative functions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or RN with current Louisiana state licensure at the time of hire; or LPN with current Louisiana state licensure at the time of hire and three (3) years of related work experience
  • United States driver's license with no DUI, DWI, or other major driver incidents and less than three at fault accidents and/or moving violations in accordance with Tulane University Authorized Driver Policies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in maternal-child health or health disparity work
  • Previous experience with and/or interest in community engagement projects
  • Previous experience with research involving human subjects
  • Interest in highly trans-disciplinary research
  • Interest in developing administrative and managerial skills
  • Experience working with postpartum or breastfeeding mothers
  • Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting
