The Cloud Storage and Virtualization Engineer will assist in the development of long-term strategies and road maps for the cloud solutions architecture. The engineer is accountable for contributing to the overall technical architecture, stability, resiliency, and general system health related to cloud storage, backup and recovery solutions.

Communicate the value of the Microsoft 365 platform including (SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, PowerApps, PowerAutomate) by understanding business needs and translating those requirements into capabilities of the Microsoft 365 platform
Analyze business goals and drivers and translate those into appropriate technical solutions as they relate to cloud collaboration tools.
Initiate and manage projects to meet business needs and advance strategic vision
Provide technical expertise in the future architecture of SAN, NAS, and cloud storage roadmap.
Monitor and troubleshoot all storage systems (cloud and local) errors and warnings.
Design, develop, implement, and administer the future data backup and archival solutions.
Support the management of the hyperconvergence platform (Nutanix) and Virtualization infrastructure (VMWare)
Consult and collaborate with IT Information Security and Academic Research to ensure security compliance and fulfillment of data requirements for grant qualifications.
Support incident and problem management by providing Tier 3 support.
Participate in ITSM-based processes such as Change Management, Configuration Management, Incident and Problem management.
Mentor and train systems engineers on cloud storage administration and best practices.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related experience.
Experience designing and implementing forms and workflows solutions using low code/no code platforms like PowerApps/PowerAutomate
Experience designing and implementing storage and collaboration solutions leveraging Sharepoint, OneDrive and Teams
Practical knowledge/use of cloud backup and recovery solutions such as Rubrik
Deep understanding of permissions and network storage protocols (NFS, CIFS, FC, etc.)
5+ years’ experience with storage administration.
Understanding of scripting/automation and ability to write scripts in some administrative languages.
Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Detail oriented, organized, and self-motivated
Strong technical documentation skills
