Support the business operations of a community-based outpatient psychological services clinic in an academic setting.

Detailed Description of Duties

Management of a professional workplace including maintaining client confidentiality (HIPAA) and engagement as the contact person for both clients and professionals. Perform client billing activity including: reviewing charges, investigating errors, reconciling individual accounts, creating and sending billing statements, submitting insurance claims and applying payments, recovering mis-applied payments from insurance companies, developing out and monitoring payment plans, sending warning letters and bills for collection. Compile data and reports regarding billing, client activity, and Faculty Practice Plan. Supervise, train, and oversee clinic office staff (part-time office support and receptionist positions, work study students, student volunteers). Assist Clinic Director in hiring office staff and work study students as needed. Recruit student volunteers every fall semester as needed. Provide guidance to clinicians to ensure compliance with protocol and policies. Assist with transition of faculty billing to an outside entity while maintaining billing practices for trainee clinicians. Manage faculty professional license renewals. Oversee maintenance of clinic space and secure, order and procure office supplies, equipment, and services needed to maintain clinic. Manage licenses and certificates for software programs needed to run the clinic.


Salary Range

Hourly range: $13.29 - 20.00

GGS Grade: 6

University Title: Office Support Assistant IV

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with billing, insurance, and customer care helpful. Organization and ability to learn new tasks and work with individuals from a variety of backgrounds are key.
