Job Description

The School of Law seeks an experienced communications professional to direct promotional efforts in traditional and social media that advance the school's strategic priorities.

The director of communications & marketing oversees the content and production of multiple complex and detailed projects, including the law school website. The director advises on communications strategies and best practices and oversees the college's communications efforts supporting alumni relations and advancement; student recruitment and engagement; and school-wide events. A crucial component of this position is to publicize the accomplishments of faculty, staff, students, and programs at the law school and engage with multiple constituencies at local, state, national, and international levels. The director will supervise a team of student interns/freelance professionals and work together strategically as a member of the law school's administrative team reporting directly to the dean.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to manage communications and marketing projects, large and small, working collaboratively with faculty and staff in the law school, as well as freelance professionals. The ideal candidate should be a creative problem-solver with excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate clearly, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with attention to deadlines.

Salary

Salary Range: $53,600 - $75,000

GGS Grade: 11

University Title: Senior Strategic Communications Consultant

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated experience in project management, content management for the website and social media, writing and editing using AP Style, as well as video production management and media relations.
