Kansas Health Science Center is currently seeking an Admissions Application Coordinator to join our team.

The Admissions Application Coordinator serves in a critical role focused on the design and implementation of the Office of Admissions application process. This important process includes the collection of applications, supporting the review of all applications, supervising the download of applications into the KHSC-KansasCOM CRM system, and communicating the results of each applicant’s application review. The application coordinator is an important member of our Office of Admissions team and assists the team with a wide variety of additional responsibilities. The Admissions Application Coordinator will report to the Director of Admissions.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with the Director of Admissions to design the application collection and review process.
  • Work with the Admissions Committee (made up of faculty and staff) to support their review of the applications and the decisions on each applicant.
  • Supervise the download of all applicants into the KansasCOM CRM so that each applicant’s personal and academic data is stored and protected.
  • Oversee the communication process of notifying each applicant of the decision made by the Admissions Committee.
  • Effectively oversees the lifecycle of the student application through matriculation.
  • Plays an important role in scheduling of operations, including meeting goals, meeting timetables, assuring deadlines and general obligations are met, monitoring activity, checking progress, making appropriate adjustments.
  • Coordinates with our TCS colleagues to ensure that communication and departmental goals are aligned.
  • Facilitates the transfer of information to KHSC-KansasCOM departments including keeping the Director of Admissions apprised of goals and progress towards those goals.
  • Plays important roles in key committees affiliated with the Office of Admissions.
  • Helps to facilitate the execution of interview days, KansasCOM visit days, and other admissions related events.
  • Assists in responding to prospective student inquiries and needs including answering questions, monitoring distribution of forms, and providing information.
  • Embodies a team focused spirit and a commitment to collaboration.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • The candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills and verbal communication skills required to communicate key KHSC-KansasCOM messages to prospective students and parents.
  • Interested candidates should be able to balance multiple projects and priorities, while managing deadlines, with a focus on positive results.
  • Analytical abilities required to assess situations and determine the best method of dealing with such issues based on KHSC policies.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a professional environment.
  • Understanding of processes and how to lead on process specific projects.

Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Ability to travel to medical school related recruitment fairs and national conferences.

Working Conditions:

Normal office environment.

Physical Requirements
