Position Information:

The College of Nursing & Professional Disciplines is hiring 3 Graduate Teaching Assistant positions for the 2021-2022 academic year. The GTA will be responsible for 8 students in caring for patients across the lifespan.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Making patient assignments, which may occur outside scheduled hours
  • Collaboration with agency staff on student learning experiences
  • Clinical instruction to include assessment skills, technical skill development, communication and teamwork
  • Assessing student learning through clinical observation and written assignments
  • Planning and facilitating post conference activities
  • Attendance at course meetings as schedule by course faculty

Requirements for both positions:

  • UND College of Nursing graduate student in good standing
  • Ability to supervise, teach and assess student learning
  • Interest in teaching
  • Effective communication skills
  • Experience in long term care and acute care preferred
  • Must be registered for a minimum of 6 academic credits

GTA #1 DETAILS:

The GTA for this position will be responsible for clinical instruction for a group of 8 nursing students caring for patients across the lifespan in the first semester of the UG nursing curriculum. This position requires an on-campus presence. 

  • 50% Position (15-20 hours per week)
  • NURS 313, Clinical Practicum (2 sections)
  • Thursdays and Fridays, 6:30AM-12:30PM
  • Salary is $1,722.67 per month
  • Tuition waiver up to $2000 per semester (student is responsible for fees)
  • Successful completion of criminal history records check.

GTA #2 & GTA #3 DETAILS:

The GTA for these positions will be responsible for clinical instruction for a group of 8 nursing students caring for patients across the lifespan in the Third semester of the UG nursing curriculum. These positions require an on-campus presence. 

  • 50% Position (15-20 hours per week)
  • NURS 433, Clinical Practicum III
  • Wednesdays 2:45PM-11PM and Thursdays, 2:45PM-7:00PM
  • Salary is $1,722.67 per month
  • Tuition waiver up to $2000 per semester (student is responsible for fees)
  • Successful completion of criminal history records check.
