Variable schedule (Monday – Friday) between hours of 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM, with occasional 6:30 PM end time -

Primary Purpose of Position:

Provides professional nursing services to students in the Health Center.

Minimum Education/Experience:

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina.

University Preferred Qualifications:

Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina.

Essential Job Duties:

Provides nursing services in the medical clinic. Collect medical data for patient intake and documents using electronic medical records.

Assists healthcare providers with procedures.

Administers ordered treatments and medications.

Other Work Responsibilities:

Provides nursing services in Nurse Clinic including patient assessment and triage both in person and by phone, wound care, suture/staple removal, medication administration and IV administration.

Administer vaccines.

Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:

Experience performing Nurse Triage.

Experience using Electronic Medical Records.

Recent Experience providing nurse triage in person and or by phone.

Experience using Electronic Medical Records.

Experience providing nursing care to a college aged population.

Experience providing nursing care and providing direct patient care in an outpatient medical setting (primary care, urgent care, college health clinic).

Strong customer service skills with demonstrated excellence in patient care.

Strong patient assessment skills.

Demonstrated ability to perform nursing skills such as wound care and IV administration.

Necessary Licenses or Certifications:

Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina.
