Position Highlights:

The Office of International Admissions, Global Recruitment seeks to hire an Associate Director for International Enrollment Counseling, a key member of the International Admissions leadership team. This individual supervises the Tucson-based international enrollment counseling team and develops a depth of knowledge about all admission pathways for prospective graduate and undergraduate international students into the Main Campus and any location in the Worldwide Microcampus Network.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supervises Tucson-based International Admissions Enrollment Counseling team, which is organized by countries/regions of the world
  • Analyzes admission funnel data to help Enrollment Counselors make informed decisions and to identify new recruitment opportunities within their assigned countries/region
  • Ensures alignment with Arizona Global and University of Arizona marketing standards
  • Designs, implements, and monitors enrollment targets, recruitment objectives and key results (OKRs)
  • Collaborates with the International Admissions Enrollment Operations & Strategic Communications Team to train student workers, staff, faculty, and partners engaged in international student recruitment to develop and implement recruitment plans
  • Identifies, promotes, and documents processes and procedures that reflect high ethical standards and best practices in global student recruitment
  • Provides basic user support in Slate CRM
  • Writes and edits promotional materials and informational articles for an international audience, including emails, web pages, forms, newsletters, and testimonials
  • Advises prospective students on the requirements and procedures for admission
  • Manages a designated country or regional assignment
  • Supervises student workers
  • Effectively communicates international admission and enrollment information and represents the University of Arizona, its mission, programs, rankings, policies, and procedures to a broad range of constituents
  • Conducts individual and small group admission counseling for prospective international students in the enrollment funnel, for any UA campus or location
  • Conducts one on one admissions counseling with parents, school or college personnel and other interested individuals and groups
  • Coordinates, conducts, and/or participates in virtual or in-person events such as information sessions, webinars, social media events, fairs, high school visits, recruitment partners, advisor/counselor trainings, or alumni gatherings.
  • Coordinates and participates in events on campus, including giving individual and small group tours to group of students, counselors, and others.
  • Builds and maintains a cooperative working relationship with partners on and off campus
  • Supports the Graduate and Undergraduate International Admissions processing teams in identifying and improving processes and procedures that enhance the student experience and reduce admission processing time

  • Diligence, independence, and an ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines concurrently

  • Working knowledge of university and college systems, program development, education systems and cultural protocols in the U.S. and abroad is preferred
  • Strong writing skills, especially strong writing skills in a foreign language is preferred

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • Five years combined experience admissions or student recruiting, or related experience, including 2 years of managerial experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Constituent Relationship Management Systems
  • Advanced degree in a relevant field
  • Fluency in a foreign language
  • Three years combined experience in international or intercultural projects
