Recruitment and Events Coordinator, MBA Career Management - McDonough School of Business

At Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business, our mission is to build global business knowledge and inspire ethical leaders to serve the common good. Our The MBA Career Center has 6+ career advisors, a career curricula team, Associate Dean, two Assistant Deans, the operations team, and hundreds of key employer accounts and relationships.

The Recruitment and Events Coordinator, an Operations Team member, supports the entire (MBACC) and Full-Time and Flex Programs. They also support our industry practice leads (career advisors) in employer/student recruitment activities that promote job placement through logistics coordination and events planning, and provide operational support for the entire Career Center team. Duties include but are not limited to:

Recruiting Coordination, Operations, and Logistics

  • Serve as on-site contact/ host for employers interviewing on-campus.
  • Ensure employers are equipped with all necessary arrangements for employer presentations - such as tech support, tables/chairs, and sign-in sheets
  • Work with employers to schedule on-campus and virtual presentation and interview dates being sure to balance employer needs, student needs, and the academic calendar.
  • Coordinate all space needs and necessary reservations, occasionally working through scheduling conflicts with other areas of MSB.
  • Coordinates with students to fill interview schedules and manage any conflicts/cancellations that arise.
  • Ensure that employer presentation details are clearly marketed and communicated on MCV (career center software) and Google calendars, specifying proper attire, RSVP deadlines, the nature of the event & generally manage student attendance.


Project Management & Operations
  • Collaborate with Industry Practice Leads in updating annual guides for students and employers
  • Define project parameters and effectively calendaring all necessary steps to complete on time
  • Execute projects with an operational mindset
  • Strive for 100% accuracy when producing outward facing materials to students, employers, and staff
  • Consistently meet project deadlines and proactively communicate issues that might prevent success


Administrative Support
  • Provide administrative support to the associate dean and director of strategic operations
  • Provide administrative support for Career Center team members - for example, setting up meetings
  • Assist with the coordination of travel and hotel for senior staff members and processing of expenses, when appropriate.
  • Manages office documents, handling Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, MS Project documents other multimedia - e.g., HTML, streaming video, podcasting


Event Support
  • Provide essential logistical and tactical support during career management events, when assistance is requested from other team members - e.g., moving chairs and light equipment, checking attendees in
  • Provide some logistical support for Orientation (260+ event) and all Alumni practice interviews (60+ events)


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 1+ year of relevant professional experience preferred; Experience as a recruiting coordinator in a higher education or a corporate setting
  • Demonstrated administrative and/or event planning experience in a demanding environment
  • Computer and web literacy (Microsoft Office including excellent skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Competence and high level of comfort with learning new computer software, including the career management system (McDonough Career View)
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, as well as organization and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task, set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • A keen focus on delivering results and building relationships
