The Director of Admissions is responsible for Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies (SCS) recruitment efforts and management of the Office of Admissions, providing oversight of the successful planning and implementation of all efforts related to admissions and recruitment of all degree programs, graduate certificate programs, and summer programs for high school students. They work closely with various staff in programs and marketing areas to support the School's academic mission, and to grow programs to meet or exceed their goals for qualified newly enrolled and registered students each semester. Reporting to the Executive Director of Enrollment Management, the Director of Admissions has responsibilities that include but are not limited to:

Leadership
  • Successfully lead the office of admissions and its staff to meet annual goals for SCS new student enrollments
  • Develop new methods and tactics for recruitment in existing markets and for entry into new markets
  • Optimize operational efficiencies and admissions processes
  • Integrate admissions, marketing and program efforts to build a competitive advantage across the recruitment process, particularly from enrollment to registration
  • Build value for prospects by differentiating the admissions experience and process through engagement
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction with our processes
  • Manage compliance and data integrity for admissions
  • Provide actionable reports on a weekly basis and as requested to assist SCS leadership with decision-making
  • Manage the department budget
  • Supervise a large team on and off campus, through remote work options


Admissions and Registration Management
  • Direct all SCS admission activity
  • Manage all student admissions, including the admissions applications, database communication flow, and reports to deans and directors for application decision making
  • Manage on-line applications, structure and content
  • Manage data entry and feeds of application information into the appropriate systems
  • Manage communication with applicant inquiries and prospects in all stages of the student life-cycle
  • Develop and prepare weekly and daily admission status reports
  • Supervise the creation and maintenance of applicant files, communication, and checklists
  • Manage applicant follow-up
  • Manage admissions decisions letters and NetID/University ID information to all admitted and denied students


Staff Management
  • Supervise full time employees, student employees, and temporary staff
  • Manage the work flow so that the staff correctly processing applications and working efficiently
  • Manage staffing to ensure coverage during peak points in the application cycle and mornings and evenings
  • Manage staff to meet customer service and processing benchmarks as established with the CSCO
  • Ensure program coverage is split evenly to ensure good customer service and proactive actions by Advisors.
  • Work with staff to resolve issues surrounding prospective students, their programs, and inhibitors to growth or success
  • Ensure redundancy in processing functions and a backup advising system
  • Develop staff to enable them to achieve their potential
  • Update any processes in a proactive manner to ensure efficiency


Software
  • Manage the vendor relationship, contracting, business process, implementation, and functionality for application software (TargetX) involved in the SCS admissions process
  • Assure the accuracy of all information in the online application system and perform routine checks to ensure it is up to date
  • Ensure data integrity and sharing with the BANNER system
  • Continuously test and benchmark processes, feeds and student experience
  • Analyze data within Salesforce/TargetX to ensure admission team is meeting internal guidelines
  • Serve as main point of contact, troubleshooter, problem solver, and manager of software systems
  • Analyze and think creatively about technological and software solutions to SCS problems
  • Implement new software or solutions to streamline internal processes and/or create a better user experience
  • Run reports in a timely fashion and create projections on enrollment trends


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree - Master's preferred
  • 5 years recent experience in an admissions environment within higher education.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite and to work effectively utilizing computer systems
  • Strong ethical reasoning, integrity, interpersonal skills, and detail-orientation
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills
  • Ability to provide very high levels of service, confidentiality, professionalism, and working well with details
  • Ability to collaborate
  • Ability to prioritize work under high volume deadlines
  • Strong supervisory and management skills
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving


Preferred qualifications
  • Ability to learn University software and prior knowledge of Banner and Salesforce/TargetX
  • Ability to run reports in Excel with forecasting and other statistical formulas
