Job Description

The Senior Specialist - International Center will report to the Assistant Director of CSN International Student Center Support and serve as international students' advisor, primarily to F-1 students and Designated Schools Official (DSO) as per federal regulations. The Senior Specialist - International Center will meet and enhance international students' needs and experiences and will be responsible for assisting the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of programming relevant to CSN's International Center.

The Senior Specialist - International Center will also assist with;
  • the CSN's global partnerships including academic agreements that provide our international students, faculty, and scholars opportunities to further their educational and professional careers
  • the data management and reporting of all the enrollment, programming, and activities at the International Center
  • expanding CSN's international 2+2 partnerships and work with relevant partners to create new transfer opportunities for CSN's international students
  • international alumni association with the oversite of the Director


The ideal candidate will have:
  • Diversity and inclusion experience, with sensitivity to cultural differences
  • Knowledge of SEVIS compliance requirements
  • Experience in providing advising services to the international student population
  • Knowledge of Immigration Law and specifically how it pertains to F-1 status
  • Full-time service experience as a Designated School Official (DSO) at a college or university with concurrent experience as administrator or co-administrator of Sunapsis or a similar F-1 and immigration data management system (e.g., Terra Dotta
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate regulatory requirements to institutional and international customer-base that is professionally, educationally, and culturally diverse
  • Knowledge of higher education institutions, academic and professional degree requirements
  • Knowledge of student's database management, electronic technology, and website updating
  • Knowledge and skills in retention issues Experience in project management
  • Strong leadership skills and experience
  • Proficiency in a second language
  • Ability to travel locally, statewide, nationally, and internationally


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Higher Education policies and Procedures
  • Knowledge about federal regulations and international affairs
  • Knowledge about international partner development and management
  • Experience working, living, and/or studying abroad
  • Experience working with international student population

Administrative Faculty Grade C
