A Central Sterile Processing Technician, Certified is responsible forcleaning, decontamination, assembly, and hi gh-leveldisinfection of allreusable medical instrumentation. Maintains h ighstandards consistencyand continuous product flow between the OR and S terileProcessing.Responsible for maintaining adequate supply levels in s terilestoragearea, rotating stock as appropriate pulling case carts for the dailysurgical schedule.
Cleans, decontaminates, assembles, and disinfects scope trays andequipment followi ngestablished tray lists and manufacturesrecommendations.Maintains commu nication with customers and departments regardingrequests and delivery o fsterile supplies.Promotes best practice by demonstrating a commitment t o quality patientcare.Performs assigned duties to maintain unit in a sta teof survey readinessand maintain quality initiatives. For example quali tycontrol measures,emergency equipment checks, and department cleanlines s.Uses the computerized instrumenttracking system in the performance ofa ssigned duties, obtaining instrument count sheets, obtaining specialhand ling instructions for instrumentation documenting sterilizationloads, an d other assigned tasks.Adheres to unit programs to support patient cares uchas maintaining aquiet environment and customer service.Efficient andp unctual distribution of case carts, equipment, and statsupplies to theOR and Maintain sterility andor cleanliness accordingto hospital protocol.M aintain accurate log for equipment out for repair.Tests operational effi ciency of Instrumentation prior to reprocessingand reports problems toap propriate leadership.Maintains a clean and orderly central processingare a (e.g. shelves,counters, equipment)May assist with teaching ofnew hires and work as resource person forother staff as well as other units inhos pital.Performs other related duties incidental to the work describedhere in.
