Department Description:

The Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities (CIDD) is one of the largest programs for developmental disabilities in the country and is UNC-Chapel Hill’s primary source for treatment, education, and research on developmental disabilities. In addition, CIDD provides important, state-of-the-art resources aimed at supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and their families in the state of North Carolina and promotes research on the pathogenesis and treatment of these conditions. The CIDD employs approximately 100 faculty, staff and students and has funding comprised of state, contract and grant, overhead, gift, foundation and receipt generated sources.

Position Description:

The purpose of this position is to provide support for externally funded research studies at the Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities (CIDD) at UNC School of Medicine. This position will work with the project PIs to carry out studies of the brain and behavioral development of infants and children with neurodevelopmental disorders. This position will assist with supporting subject recruitment, screening, scheduling, the MRI scanning process and maintaining contact with study participants as well as assisting with data collection and entry. The position will also require coordination with various researchers, research coordinators and research facilities here at UNC in order to achieve project goals in an effective manner.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of research study setting

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with infants and children with neurodevelopmental disorders

Position/Schedule Requirements:

Evening work occasionally, Overtime occasionally, Weekend work occasionally
