Position Summary:

The Research Associate (Associate Program Mgr) position will be the associate project manager and primary contact for all external contracts and Lineberger Cancer Center Studies entering the HTSF facility. He/she will collaborate on experimental design, implementation, and new methods development with the associated Principal Investigator and HTSF leadership/staff. The selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating data processing and management for these projects. This individual will provide input into strategic planning of sample processing and protocol development.

Educational Requirements:

Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required in Biological sciences or related degree, plus 3 or more years of relevant experience in a research setting with a bachelor’s degree. May require terminal degree and licensure.

Qualifications and Experience:

Ideal candidates must have a background in biology, cancer, or genomics. Strong candidates will also have experience analyzing small RNA data, total RNAseq data, and metagenomics data. Candidates should have experience working in clinical environments or strong interest in clinical research. The preferred candidate must be able to work in a high pressured and diverse environment. This individual must be flexible, collaborative, yet able to work effectively with a high degree of independence. Strong organizational skills are essential for this role. Candidates must have knowledge of such software/programs as Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
