Temporary Senior Research Scholar
TemporaryEssential Job Duties:
Lead effort to isolate endosymbiont-free high molecular weight DNA from the corn planthopper, molecularly characterize transgenic and CRISPR-edited planthoppers, assist efforts to knock HDR constructs into planthopper genome and assess gene function. The incumbent will also lead efforts to write the associated manuscripts.Is Time Limited:

-PhD in Molecular Genetics or related field. At least 4-years of experience with hands-on-experience generating and molecularly characterizing genetically modified non-model insects.Department Required Skills:
-Experience with embryonic microinjection of non-model insects
-Experience with transposon-based
-Experience with CRISPR-mediated gene knock in and isolation of high molecular weight DNA
