This Administrative Support Associate is an on-site position at the Journey level and manages the business side of the Political Science and Public Affairs Department, an engaging group of faculty and students, and is often the department’s first point of contact with the university and the public. Personal and technical skills are needed for office, event, budget, and personnel management. Good judgment and patience with people, and an ability to adjust to changing requirements and requests are essential.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position:
Ability to organize tasks and frequently prioritize and reprioritize tasks as they come in to the office; must be self-motivated to meet deadlines without direct supervision; must possess a high degree of proficiency in computer software knowledge such as word processing and spreadsheet programs; must possess the ability to perform several tasks at once; maintain long-term calendar of report or task due dates from year to year; must possess patience and the ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral formats; and knowledge of university procedures and computer software such as Banner and R25 a plus.Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills, written and oral; excellent people skills; office systems/office management degree or equivalent experience in office management. Accounting experience helpful.Anticipated Hiring Range:
