Job Summary:

Grinnell College is seeking a Campus Safety Officer. Under supervision of the Shift Supervisor this position performs tasks in support of the college’s safety and security operations. Maintains a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors by patrolling and monitoring safety and security conditions on college property and responding to calls for service.
Must be able to work any shift.

Minimum Qualifications:

•High school diploma or equivalent combination of education, training, or experience in a safety/security related field.
•Must possess a valid driver’s license.
•Requires the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
•Requires the ability to promote and deploy conflict resolution principles such as de-escalation, active listening, and providing solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred with prior safety/security experience.
• First Aid certification, including CPR and defibrillation training.
