Department Summary:

The Facilities division of Support and Services consists of two main functions; Facilities support, and campus services. We support Facilities staff and operations by managing the Facilities operating and project budget and finances, providing procurement liaison services (purchasing, contracts and invoicing), business analysis and reporting; serving as the Facilities customer service center for all University related maintenance and construction needs by being the primary line of communication between University faculty, staff, and students and the Facilities construction and maintenance departments; and overseeing the safety and training of Facilities employees by providing current training and proper protective equipment for all Facilities staff. Campus services consists of the Facilities Central Store, which stock and supply over 4,000 items to Facilities technicians and the rest of campus; and Automotive Services, which maintains and manages over 500 motorized vehicles and equipment items.

The Facilities organization at UNT is a service provider comprised of the following divisions FPDC; Facilities Maintenance (FM) and Facilities Support & Services (FSS). We are responsible for the planning, renovation, maintenance and repair of university buildings and facilities, as well as other services playing an essential role to the mission of the University of North Texas. Position Overview:

This position is responsible for functioning as a contact between Facilities and its customers, and for assisting other employees in managing work orders for the campus. This position operates the computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS ) ona daily basis to receive and process service requests from UNT customers, and to manage the input process and scheduling of all preventative maintenance in the CMMS system.

Representative Tasks:
• Maintains
, receives and processes service requests with detail; assigns workcenter and issues account number, routes work orders.
• Responds to calls for emergency services; dispatches appropriate craft by radio orcontacts correct agency for response.
• Collects labor charges and billing receipts upon completion of projects, closescompleted work orders.
• Exhibits thorough knowledge of departmental policies and procedures and
answers routine questions by office staff or clients.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED equivalent and four years of experience in related
maintenance/repair field including supervisory experience. Substitution of education for experience allowed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Experience with CMMS system(s), particularly TMA Systems’ Enterprise Desktop product. • Basic to intermediate understanding of relational database concepts and the relationship between databases and applications, or the ability to rapidly assimilate. • Experience using Microsoft Access, Excel and Word software. • Experience developing reports in tools such as MS Access, Crystal Reports, Microsoft Reports, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Experience in a call center environment
-Strong focus on customer service

Required License / Registration / Certification:

Possession of a valid Texas driver’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment; ability to drive a vehicle and maintain coverage under University liability insurance policy, if required to drive University vehicles.

Monday – Friday
8:00am – 5:00pm
During the training period, times may vary.
