Position Overview:

The Human Resources Department at the University of North Texas System is seeking to hire a Human Resources Business Partner to join our team. The Human Resources Business Partner provides human resources consultation and support to multiple designated business units to define and execute HR strategies that enable accomplishment of business unit objectives
and align with university culture.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Organizational Psychology or related field and 4 years of progressively responsible human resources experience; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws relating to Human Resources functional areas.
• Working knowledge of MS Office suite.
• Skill in using office computer information systems to organize, store, manipulate and retrieve data.
• Effective communications skills both orally and in writing.
• Critical thinking skills.
• Ability to plan, organize and effectively manage multiple assignments.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment, with frequently changing priorities.
• Focused on providing a high level of customer service and follow-through.

Preferred Qualifications:

The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP Certification
  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Higher Education experience.

Partners with university departments, divisions, managers, and employees to provide guidance on a wide variety of human resources issues in the
areas of employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits and leave, employee engagement, compliance, policy
interpretation, and institutional effectiveness measures.

o:

Performs workplace investigations following best practices, and prepares well-written investigative reports making final determinations in investigations.

o:

Utilizes knowledge of various human resources functions to provide tactical support, professional counsel, advice, and service to university constituents to help facilitate the success of the university’s mission.

o:

Interprets and coaches on effective problem resolution using constructive strategies such as coaching, mediation, progressive discipline, or
grievance processes that support relationships.

o:

Maintains an effective level of business acumen, institutional knowledge and literacy regarding business units, including core business, culture, and short- and long-range plans.

o:

Researches and analyzes innovative human resources practices, staying abreast of trends in the field and the higher education industry.

o:

Acts as a liaison and collaborates with other human resources functions.

o:

Serves on special projects teams by researching, compiling, and analyzing human resources information.

o:

Supports and recommends initiatives to enhance equity, diversity, and inclusion.
