Job Description:

As the Center’s Research Oversight Committees Administrator (ROCA), you will be responsible for the administration, coordination, and management of the committees which form the UF Health Cancer Center’s (UFHCC) Protocol Review & Monitoring System (PRMS). This is a highly responsible, visible role and will include an extensive skillset in strategic planning and project/program management as well as for stakeholder engagement and training.

In your new role you will be responsible for the following:

  • Oversight, planning, and reporting related to the PRMS, working with Clinical Research Office (CRO) and overall UFHCC leadership to define and implement the strategic plan for these critical oversight systems;
  • Coordination of the Scientific Review & Monitoring Committee (SRMC) review process for cancer-relevant research protocols submitted by UFHCC investigators for activation at the UFHCC. This includes metrics management, workflow oversight, and protocol reviews;
  • Coordination of the Data Integrity & Safety Committee (DISC) review process for cancer-relevant clinical research protocols conducted as part of the UFHCC research portfolio. This includes managing workflows, ensuring documentation and accuracy of information up for review, as well as metrics management;
  • Coordination of the UFHCC Disease Site Group (DSG) review processes, working alongside DSG leaders, CRO leadership, and overall UFHCC leadership to manage the review process;
  • Providing education and training to cancer research groups at the University of Florida with regards to UFHCC PRMS processes including explaining NCI expectations for all study types, consulting on recruitment and screening efforts with study teams, as well as other critical resources to advance the Compliance and oversight efforts of the UFHCC CRO.

This is a senior level position, ideal for candidates with an established career in oncology clinical research and/or clinical research program development and management. Employees in these roles operate as part of our collaborative research enterprise and are fundamental to the progress of cancer research being conducted at the University of Florida. Expected Salary:

$60,000 - $65,000; Commensurate with Education and Experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of experience in appropriate area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

As an ideal candidate you will have/be:

  • A Master’s Degree in Health Sciences, Basic Sciences, Statistics and/or Research or Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences, Basic Sciences, Statistics and/or Research with three years of relevant experience in an academic medical center, preferably in an NCI designated Center;
  • Experience in clinical research program management including interpreting complex oncology clinical trial protocols, sponsor policies, as well as federal, state, and local regulations;
  • Working knowledge of NCI Cancer Center Support Grant guidelines for clinical research;
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, human subjects research regulations, oncology clinical trials, and sponsor relations;
  • Extensive experience and expertise using Clinical Trials Management Systems (OnCore preferred);
  • Extensive experience with databases and/or subject data, as well as in the analysis of data and independent generation of tailored reports;
  • Strong desire to learn, seek out, and apply new knowledge, methods, and information;
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a resource and Subject Matter Expert on human subjects research regulations and protocol/study design and best practices;
  • Exceptional customer service with a professional, trustworthy, approachable demeanor and strong interpersonal skills, as well as the ability and desire to work with a broad range of people;
