The Student Support Specialist will be part of a team that will provide administrative support on a daily basis for the Directors of Graduate Studies in Biological Sciences, Psychological Sciences, Chemistry, and Physics. The incumbent will assist with a wide range of student support processes including:
Staff the Graduate Student Offices of each department which may require the incumbent to have multiple job sites.
Act as a liaison between the MU Office of Graduate Studies and the departmental graduate programs, and the Director of Graduate Studies and MU Office of Graduate Studies.
Research responses to student questions and/or requests for information and provide accurate information for current students and new student applicants.
Maintain records for all graduate students.
Assist with graduate recruitment activities including coordinating campus visits, participating in recruitment events, and the developing of recruiting initiatives.
Assist graduate students with the process of registration, and other benchmarks prior to and at the time of requesting graduation.
Coordinate with portfolio fiscal and HR staff regarding graduate student appointments, funding arrangements, fellowship applications and renewals, etc.
Coordinate annual graduate student progress evaluations, and compile information to provide the Directors of Graduate Studies and the Department Chairs for interim and annual reports.
Build a rapport with graduate students and assisting them with their day-to-day programmatic needs, as requested. Examples of those needs include, providing program procedures, policies, goals and objectives, and technical guidance.
Develop a close working relationship with the Division of Diversity, Inclusion and Equity with the objective of facilitating to graduate students participating on IDE program initiatives.
Coordinate maintain all documentation needed for accreditation of students in departments.Salary
Salary range: $13.27 - $19.00 (hourly)

A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which
