the UGA Facilities Management Division is the largest of 7 divisions reporting to the Vice President for Finance and Administration. The exceptional staff of over 800 personnel within the Facilities Management Division manage, operate and maintain campus landscapes, buildings and infrastructures to promote the long-term sustainability of the University of Georgia.

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires are least a high school diploma or equivalent. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Position Summary:

Operates large mechanical sweepers, front-end loaders, tractor-trailers, forklifts, tractor-trailers, hook lift trucks, and a variety of large vehicles and/or heavy equipment. Transports equipment and materials, solid waste, and recyclables. Prepares simple records and performs equipment servicing and minor maintenance operations. Supervises semi-skilled and unskilled workers in absence of supervisory personnel, as directed. Performs related work.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:

*Considerable knowledge of the hazards involved in equipment operation and the safety precautions necessary.
*Ability to drive a truck.
*Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Physical Demands:

  • Walk, stoop, bend, squat, lift, climb stairs, sit, and stand throughout an 8 hour shift.
  • Lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Work around Sanitation Disposal waste/trash.
