Position Summary:

Assist lead scientist in the UGA Precision Agriculture Program. Position consists of helping with precision ag machinery and technology research conducted at different UGA research centers and on grower farms across the state of Georgia. Specific duties include but are not limited to the following: assist with coordinating and executing research trials, operating agricultural machinery, troubleshoot equipment and technology issues, data collection and entry, data summary, maintain and service UGA vehicles, etc. Training will be provided for the use of any equipment and/or technology. Occasionally, work outside normal hours (8 am – 5 pm) may be needed depending on the location and type of research project.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position:

High school diploma is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies :

Ability to operate farm machinery is expected but not required.

Physical Demands:

Spend extended periods of time outdoors during inclement conditions, perform minimal manual labor or light manual labor that involves lifting, bending, and squatting during that time. Driving.
