Administrative Specialist

Job description

The part-time Administrative Specialist in the Lewis Katz School of Medicine’s Department of Thoracic Medicine and Surgery provides administrative support to the clinical research team. 

Responsibilities include entering data into clinical sites under the direction of the Clinical Nurse Manager; following-up with clinical research study subjects via phone; performing administrative tasks such as organizing and maintaining files, correspondences, other records, and reads and routes incoming mail/packages. In addition, the Administrative Specialist coordinates and arranges meetings including reserving facilities. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

At least two years of directly related administrative experience in an academic environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities:

*Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

*Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to effectively interact with a diverse group of students, faculty, administrators, and staff.

*Strong attention to detail.

*Strong written and verbal communication skills.

*Demonstrated resourcefulness, initiative, and follow-through.

*Demonstrated ability to proofread, edit and compose correspondence.

 Preferred Skills:       

 *Spanish Speaking


This is a part-time position.
