About Central College:

Responsible to the Grounds/Utility Team Supervisor for performing a variety of grounds and maintenance tasks.
Grounds & Utility Maintenance:
Responsible for college ground maintenance.
Including, but not limited to - mowing grass, edging sidewalks, planting trees, flowers, and shrubs, trimming, watering landscaping plantings, raking leaves, etc.
Snow & ice removal; spread anti-skid material.
Trash and recycling pick up.
Responsible for furniture/office moves and event set-up and tear down in coordination with the Director of Purchasing and Facilities Services.
Perform minor maintenance on landscaping equipment such as sharpening blades, tightening belts, and greasing bearings.
Make on and off campus deliveries, coordinating with Central Stores Coordinator.
Other Maintenance duties as assigned (such as painting, changing filters, etc.).
Shift hours may vary, including evenings, weekends, and college closure periods.
High School graduate or GED and 2 years' experience as a bus driver.
Ability to lift, pull or push 50-100 pounds; climb and use a ladder.
Ability to operate a truck, tractor, mover, forklift, chainsaw, snow blower, and other miscellaneous equipment.
CDL with Passenger & Air brake endorsement is required.
Medical Certificate (in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations).
Confirmed negative pre-employment drug test.
Must have a safe driving record.
Good knowledge of Iowa Driver's Manual and DOT's A Motor Carrier's Guide to Improving Highway Safety.
Ability to communicate effectively and exercise good human relations skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with the college community.
Compliance with all applicable DOT regulations, including submission to drug and alcohol testing.
Candidates are also subject to a background investigation.
Must be willing and available for evening and weekend work.
