Job Summary:

The Facilities Specialist maintains a clean, safe and healthy environment for student success at Sheridan College.

Reports To:

Custodial Supervisor

Education/Qualifications:

•High School Diploma or GED
•Valid Driver License

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

•Possess a good attitude
•Understanding of cleaning procedures and techniques per assigned area(s)
•Able to read and write
•Respond to verbal and written instructions
•Assist with painting, light carpentry, minor plumbing repair, preventive maintenance, check and service fire extinguishers, light bulbs replacement.
•Work well within a team
•Assist in snow removal on campus
•Computer skills—expected to learn how to: receive & send email, navigate the web, operate in windows environment
•Maintain an organized work area
•Manage duties to complete tasks per schedule
•Maintain equipment and supplies necessary to meet needs of designated area
•Proficiency with cleaning agents and equipment
•Familiarity with general room and building usage
•Aware of and follow safety procedures (SDS forms)

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

Occasional evenings and weekends
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work on a ladder and work overhead
