Job Summary

"Scene Shop Foreperson: Assist the Technical Director in leading student assistants, P &P and Stage Craft lab workers in the scenic and properties build of a five show season. Must have prior carpentry and scene shop experience. Must be able to take criticism, work as a collaborative team player, and take on leadership responsibilities. Must have a good attendance record for previous work experiences.

Scene Shop Carpenters: Assist in the building of scenery and properties for our five show season. Must understand the purpose/use of power and manual tools. Must be able to take criticism, be enthusiastic about learning new skills., and must work as a collaborative team player. Must be able to lead beginning shop students in projects either in the build or at load ins and strikes. Must have a good attendance record for previous work experiences."

Required Qualifications

Must be a current University of West Georgia student enrolled for six credit hours and maintaining at least a 2.0 cumulative grade-point average unless otherwise noted/indicated by the hiring department.

Preferred Qualifications

Basic Carpenter skills needed.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Basic Carpenter skills needed.

Other Information

Student Assistant I positions include standard, routine duties which require minimal prior training or experience. Most often, Student Assistant I positions work with other students and are frequently supervised.
