Job Description:

ECU Environmental Research Lab in Howell (Department of Biology) is currently seeking Students to work in the Lab and as Field Workers. Responsibilities may include washing scientific glassware, preparing solutions used in analysis, data entry, report preparation, collection of samples in the field, and assisting with sample analysis. We need help in the lab on a regular basis, help with field work is weather dependent and thus irregular. Field work involves 6-9 hour sampling trips on the Pamlico River between Washington NC and Lowland NC. These trips are scheduled every 3 weeks but vary depending on conditions. Ability to follow all COVID safety protocols is a requirement for this position.

Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.):

A major with a science background and a GPA of 3.0 or better is preferred but not required. Candidates should have a basic understanding of chemistry, experience measuring volumes of liquids, the ability to follow lab protocols, and a willingness to ask questions when uncertainty exists regarding lab protocols.
