Advertised Job Summary:

The Assistant Director of Spark, at the University of South Carolina, will assist in all aspects of the Music Leadership Laboratory. This may include event design and management, marketing, grant writing, donor cultivation, website and social media content creation, and guest artist coordination. The Assistant will serve on the core creative team, report to the Director of Spark and work closely with the Coordinator of Community Engagement. Responsible for budgets, finances, ordering supplies, processing accounts payable and receivable. This position requires a high level of relationship building, organizational planning, flexibility, and the ability to solve problems.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):

Master’s degree or a bachelor’s degree and 2 years related program experience.

Outstanding written and oral communication and digital technology skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Desirable qualifications include a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a concentration in music, arts administration, marketing, communications, or a related field. The ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects and the ability to maintain a professional demeanor within a fast-paced, innovative environment, alongside a passion and commitment to the vision and goals of Spark and the School of Music is preferred.
