The Business Office Coordinator is responsible for supporting Business Office functions for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. S/he will assist with managing purchasing, travel, and human resource related activities for the department.
The Business Office Coordinator must ensure compliance with University policies and procedures for activities related to purchasing, HR, and travel, and also provide appropriate information to staff members and other internal constituents (e.g. VP’s Office, Purchasing Department, Controller’s Office, HR) as needed.Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years related experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services; or equivalency.Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience in college or university admissions, particularly within a Business Office setting, is preferred.
•Knowledge of University of South Carolina policies, procedures, financial systems, and HR systems is preferred.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
•Keen attention to detail and ability to maintain confidential information are required.
•Considerable computer mastery with specific knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat is essential.
•Must demonstrate strong analytical skills, the capacity to learn web-based financial and HR systems, and the ability to correctly interpret USC policies and procedures.
•Must be able to establish and sustain positive working relationships with staff, co-workers, and other internal constituents across campus.
•Must be able to manage sensitive personnel and financial situations and information with confidentiality and discretion.
•Ability to effectively and appropriately manage time and prioritize tasks is required.
•Must be able to manage multiple concurrent tasks of a varied nature.
•Must possess excellent organizational skills.
•Must be able to work independently with little direction as well as collaboratively within a team.
