Department/Organization: 301101 - VP Advancement

Normal Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm

Job Summary: Performs a broad scope of professional accounting activities requiring experienced, professional knowledge and application of accounting principles and practices.

Additional Department Summary: Performs advanced professional accounting activities for a specialized, functional area requiring application of an advanced professional knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Ensures or evaluates compliance and accountability of business operations and processes.
Assists the Executive Director of Advancement Operations to organize and coordinate the services that fall under the financial umbrella of the Division. This position will oversee the purchasing process and perform all aspects of accounting and budgeting for the Division.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or Finance and one (1) year of accounting experience; OR a CPA and some accounting experience.

Skills and Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to meet deadlines and work cross functionally with other departments to accomplish a common goal. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks through the use of reporting. Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Qualifications: One year of work experience within higher education or non-profit organization. Knowledge of UA's accounting and budget policies and procedures. Banner experience preferred.
