The University of Virginia's School of Medicine, Cardiology Division is seeking a licensed Clinical Research Coordinator. This position coordinates and implements both pharmaceutical and device cardiovascular related clinical trial research studies, working closely with the Principal Investigators, Operational Managers, and other research team members during the performance of the trials. This position requires the recruitment, consenting and enrollment of clinical trial subjects, management of their visits, testing and the collection and entry of study data; prepares appropriate study documentation; and ensures compliance with protocol guidelines and requirements of regulatory agencies. Incumbent is responsible for maintaining quality management of the clinical research study . The successful candidates will be required to manage multiple complex clinical trials simultaneously in accordance with current regulatory requirements and maintain all study documentation in a manner that is ‘audit ready’. The successful candidates must also possess excellent interpersonal skills, organizational skills and the ability to clearly articulate information to clinicians, study subjects and families, referring physicians and other members of the research team. Candidates should have the ability to function in a fast paced environment and be able problem solve and work through complex issues using the resources available. Candidates will be responsible for mentoring and leading non-licensed CRC’s on the interventional valve and structure heart studies and must possess excellent leadership skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with device trial budgeting, contract submission and device purchase order agreement with UVA Medical Center and will be responsible for working the SOM CTO to ensure proper device billing and coding of investigational devices with Medicare and private 3rd party insurances. Candidate will working with Cath lab device inventory manager and epic specialists to ensure all investigational devices are track through medical center procurement and Epic scanning processes for proper tracking and billing of investigational devices.
Education: Associate's degree or higher based on medical specialty
Experience: At least one year of clinical research experience is required.
Licensure: RN or other health related licensure as dictated by study (Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, etc.)
Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) and/or Clinical Research Associate (CCRA) typically possessed.
