Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implementation of training programs for distance runners and Cross Country Teams
  • Recruiting both women and men’s distance runners
  • Academic monitoring of student-athletes
  • Administrative duties
  • Assist in all areas of the Track & Field, Cross Country programs
  • Home Meet Management duties
  • Oversee Team Travel for Men and Women’s Cross Country
  • Additional duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of NCAA rules pertaining to recruitment & eligibility
  • Knowledge of NCAA, Pac-12 and University of Arizona rules and regulations
  • Ability to communicate and empathize with Division 1 level student-athletes
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to academic and athletic success
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and has a positive demeanor
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive interpersonal relations with student-athletes and staff
  • Ability to problem solve and make decisions
  • Organizational skills, including the ability to plan, establish priorities and successfully manage multiple priority projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all organizational levels, and project a positive, professional attitude

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Coaching and recruiting experience at the collegiate level
  • Experience coaching male and female Track & Field and Cross Country athletes
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends, when necessary

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree
  • Two years of coaching experience at the collegiate Division 1 level
