Under limited supervision, provide primary support activities to the Facilities and Public Safety department. The Asset Specialist will maintain technology platforms for asset inventory, preventive maintenance schedules, and asset warranties.

  • Perform physical inventory of college/department assets.
  • Determine, in accordance with predetermined standards, which assets should be inventoried.
  • Gather, evaluate, and organize asset data in computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to meet college/department requirements.
  • Coordinate and maintain preventive maintenance schedules in CMMS for all building equipment and assets.
  • Track and manage asset warranties.
  • Coordinate disposition of surplus equipment.
  • Work with design teams, contractors, and commissioning agents to capture asset data for new construction and renovation projects.
  • Track craft technicians’ tools and equipment.
  • Assist with inventory management activities as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Position involves working in an office and warehouse setting. Frequent (34-66%) standing, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing. Occasional (10-33%) lifting up to 50 lbs.


    High school diploma or equivalent required.1-3 years’ inventory/asset management experience.Computer skills, knowledge of standard computer software and office equipment required.Ability to work under physical/environmental demands.Valid driver’s license required.


    Associates degree preferred.Experience with CMMS preferred.
